The Sunset Center sits in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea. It covers two city blocks south of Ocean Avenue – the town center. The entrance to the Sunset Center complex is on the east side of San Carlos Street, between Eighth and Tenth Streets.

Parking for the Sunset Center is located nearby, on the southwest corner of Mission and Eighth Streets, in a Public Parking lot. Parking is free for Sunset Center patrons after 6pm. In addition, there is a small parking lot on San Carlos Street, directly in front of the Sunset Theater, and a second small lot on Tenth Street, south of the Sunset Theater. There are normally a number of parking spaces to be found in Carmel's enchanting neighborhoods adjacent to the Sunset Center.

DIRECTIONS TO PARKING FOR SUNSET CENTER PATRONS

There are three parking lots at Sunset Center: a large Public Parking lot at Mission and Eighth Streets, a small parking lot in front of the theater at San Carlos and Ninth Streets, and a small parking lot on Tenth Street, between Mission and San Carlos Streets. Handicap parking spaces are located in the San Carlos Street parking lot. Parking at the Sunset Center is limited, so please allow some additional time for locating a parking space and walking to the theater.

Directions from Highway 1 to Parking Lots at the Sunset Center:

To go from Hwy 1 to Public Parking [A] -- SW corner of Mission and Eighth Streets.

• From Highway 1, take Ocean Avenue west to Junipero Street.
• Turn left on Junipero and go two blocks.
• Turn right on Eighth Street and go one block.
• A Public Parking lot will be on your left. Parking is FREE to Sunset Center patrons after 6 pm.

To go from Hwy 1 to San Carlos Street Public Parking Lot [B] -- San Carlos, between Eighth and Tenth Streets.

• From Highway 1, take Ocean Avenue west to Junipero Street.
• Turn left on Junipero and go two blocks.
• Turn right on Eighth Street and go two blocks.
• Turn left on San Carlos and go one-and-a-half blocks.
• Just past Ninth Street, turn left and enter the San Carlos Street parking lot in front of the theater.

To go to Handicap Parking [B] -- San Carlos, between Eighth and Tenth Streets.

• There are a limited number of Handicap Parking spaces located near the Sunset Theater.
• Enter the San Carlos Street parking lot.
• Handicap Parking spaces are in front of the Theater Auxiliary Building, opposite the entrance to the parking lot.

To go from Hwy 1 to Tenth Street Public Parking Lot [C] -- Tenth Street, between Mission and San Carlos.

• From Highway 1, take Ocean Avenue west to Junipero.
• Turn left on Junipero and go south two blocks.
• Turn right on Eighth Street and go west one block.
• Turn left on Mission and go south two blocks.
• Turn right on Tenth Street.
• Go about 3/4th of a block and make a right turn into the Tenth Street parking lot, situated just beyond the last cottage on your right.

DIRECTIONS TO LOCATIONS IN SUNSET CENTER

Directions from Public Parking to Sunset Center & Theater [1] -- San Carlos, between Eighth & Tenth Streets.

• Walk to the south side of the parking lot (toward the building)
• Turn right at the ramp, which leads up to San Carlos.
• At San Carlos Street, follow the sidewalk to Ninth Street.
• At Ninth Street, on your left are steps and a ramp leading down to the Theater.

Directions to the Sunset Center Ticket Services office [2] -- San Carlos, between Eighth and Tenth Streets.

• Park in the San Carlos Street parking lot.
• The Sunset Center Ticket Services office is located in the lobby of the Sunset Theater. The office is open Monday through Friday, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, and Saturday, noon to 4:00 pm. The Ticket Services office is also open two hours prior to every event at Sunset Center until the end of the intermission.

Directions to SCC, Inc. Administration Office, Bingham, Chapman, and Babcock Rooms, the Cultural Council of Monterey County, and the Center for Photographic Art [3] -- Sunset Cultural Center Building, San Carlos between Eighth and Tenth Streets.

• Park in the San Carlos Street parking lot.
• From the San Carlos Street parking lot, walk north, past the Theater building to the steps leading up to a patio. The SCC, Inc. Administration office is in the northwest corner of the patio. The Bingham and Chapman Rooms are located on the north side of the patio, directly across from the steps. The Babcock Room can be reached through a door on the southeast corner of the patio; the Babcock Room and the Cultural Council of Monterey County are directly across from this door.

Directions to the Sunset Center backstage [4] -- San Carlos, between Eighth and Tenth Streets.

• Enter the San Carlos Street parking lot.
• Straight ahead is the Theater Auxiliary Building. The backstage loading door is located to the left of the windowed hallway of the Theater Auxiliary Building.

Directions to the Sunset Center Green Room and Rehearsal/Dance Studio [5] -- San Carlos, between Eighth and Tenth Streets.

• Park in the San Carlos Street parking lot.
• The Green Room and Rehearsal/Dance Studio are directly across from the entrance to the San Carlos parking lot, in the Theater Auxiliary Building. The Green Room is located straight ahead from the entrance into the Theater Auxiliary Building, and the Rehearsal/Dance Studio is down the hall to the right of the door.

Directions to Carpenter Hall and Studio 105 [6] -- Mission, between Eighth and Tenth Streets.

• Park in the Public Parking lot on the southwest corner of Mission and Eighth Streets, or along Mission Street.
• Carpenter Hall is about a half block from Eighth Street, west side of Mission Street.
• Studio 105 is about a block from Eighth Street, west side of Mission Street.

Directions to The Yoga Center, Monterey Symphony, Carmel Music Society, & Carmel Bach Festival offices [7] -- Tenth Street, between Mission and San Carlos.

• Park in the Tenth Street parking lot.
• The Yoga Center and the offices of the Monterey Symphony, the Carmel Music Society, and the Carmel Bach Festival are located in the cottages southeast of this parking lot.
