Ordering Tickets Online

The fastest and easiest way to order tickets for any show at Sunset Center is to use this Web site and order them online, using Visa, Discover or MasterCard credit cards. Use the Calendar on the Events menu to locate the show you want to see. To place a ticket order via e-mail to Sunset Center Ticket Services, hit the Buy Tickets button next to any event in the Calendar and a ticket order form will appear on your screen. Fill out the required information on the order form, and click on Submit. We will complete your order and have your tickets in the mail to you on the next business day.

All tickets must be purchased at the time of your order with a Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover credit card. We do not accept unpaid ticket reservations or hold tickets for in-person purchase later or Will Call pick up. General Ticket Release Dates: Every show on the Events Calendar includes a date when we release tickets for sale to the general public. Prior to that date, tickets are available only as part of a subscription series or on a special priority basis. You may submit a ticket order any time, and Sunset Center Ticket Services will hold it until the general ticket release date for that event. In the near future, Sunset Center plans to introduce a top-priority ticket ordering program for donors, for ordering tickets before the general public.

Online Seat Selection: You may select your seat online and either choose to have your tickets mailed or reserved in Will Call.

Ticket Handling Fees: Sunset Center Ticket Services will charge a $3.50 per ticket handling fee for all online ticket orders.

Tickets Purchased More Than 10 Days Before an Event: If we receive your ticket order more than 10 days before a show, we will mail your tickets to the shipping address you indicate. All ticket orders are sent via first-class mail and should arrive in plenty of time. You may also request that we hold your tickets at Will Call, for you to pick up on the day of the show or at Sunset Center Ticket Services window during regular business hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, and Saturday, noon to 4:00 pm. You must show a photo ID to pick up tickets at Will Call.

Ticket Purchased Within 10 Days of a Show: If you order your tickets within 10 days of a show, we will hold them for you at Will Call, and you can pick them up on the day of the show. The Sunset Center Ticket Services window is open two hours before the start of every performance until intermission. Tickets held in Will Call also can be picked up at the Sunset Center during our regular business hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, and Saturday, noon to 4:00 pm. Please allow us 48 hours to process your order and place the tickets at Will Call. You must show a photo ID to pick up tickets at Will Call.

Ordering Tickets By Phone

If you prefer to speak with Sunset Center Ticket Services directly to order your tickets, you can call us at (831) 620-2048. Our regular office hours are Monday to Friday, from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, and Saturday, noon to 4:00 pm. In addition, the Sunset Center Ticket Services window is open two hours prior to every performance until intermission. The same practices as outlined above for online ticket orders apply to all phone orders, including general public ticket sales, mailing tickets and Will Call.

Buying Tickets In Person

The Sunset Center Ticket Services office is located near the theater entrance off San Carlos Street, between Eighth and Ninth Streets. Regular office hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, and Saturday, noon to 4:00 pm. In addition, Sunset Center Ticket Services opens two hours prior to every performance, and remains open until the show's intermission. Parking is free in the San Carlos parking lot adjacent to the theater.

Tickets purchased in person may be paid for with cash, check (CA only), or a Visa, American Express, Discover or MasterCard credit card.

Refunds and Exchanges

All ticket sales are final, and there are no refunds once tickets have been purchased. If you are a Season Subscriber to Performance Carmel, you may exchange tickets for an equal or lower priced show, depending on ticket availability.

Program Changes and Cancellations

Occasionally, due to unforeseen circumstances, the programs and artists scheduled to appear at Sunset Center change, or (rarely) a show is cancelled. As soon as we know of a change to the Events Calendar, whether a show has been changed, postponed, or cancelled, we will announce these changes – if time permits – on this Web site and in local newspapers. If you are a ticket holder to a show that is either rescheduled or cancelled, please hold on to your tickets. We will contact you with information about exchanging or refunding your tickets. All information about program changes or cancellations is updated daily on the Web site, or you can call Patron Services at (831) 620 - 2053.

Most performances at Sunset Center occur as scheduled, regardless of weather. If weather concerns arise on the day of an event, please check with Sunset Ticket Services at (831) 620 - 2048. Ticket Services is open from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday, Saturday, noon to 4:00 pm, and two hours before every show.

Unable to Use Your Tickets?

All ticket sales are final. However, if you are not able to use your tickets, you may donate them for resale by Sunset Center Ticket Services. For you, it means you may get a tax deduction to the extent allowed by law. For the Sunset Center, it means that we have the chance to sell your seat to someone who will use it. To donate your seats for resale, at least 24 hours before the show we need either your tickets returned to Sunset Center Ticket Services, or you may send us a fax or e-mail indicating the seat locations. Sunset Center Ticket Services will acknowledge your ticket donation by mail. Our address for mailing your tickets to us for resale is P.O. Box 1950, Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA 93921.

Missing or Lost Tickets:

If your tickets do not arrive in the mail before a show, or you have lost them or left them at home by accident, don't worry. Come to Sunset Center at least one hour before the start of the performance and go directly to the Ticket Services window at the theater. A Ticket Services representative will be there with a list of all ticket buyers. Show the Ticket Services representative a photo ID, and you will receive a seat pass to the show. A $3.50 per ticket handling fee will be charged for the reissue of all missing and lost tickets.

Group Sales

Sunset Center would like an opportunity to work with you to arrange for special group discounts of twenty or more tickets to events. Please contact us early so that we can make certain you get the best seats at the best price. Late Arrivals

Shows at Sunset Center start promptly. If you are unavoidably delayed, you will be seated at the discretion of the House Manager, usually following a pause in the program.

We suggest that patrons arrive at the Sunset Center at least 20 minutes before the curtain time if you already have your tickets and no later than 30 minutes before the show if your tickets are being held for you at Will Call. If you are purchasing tickets, please allow additional time. Sunset Center Ticket Services opens two hours prior to the start of the event and remains open through the intermission.

For the Comfort and Pleasure of All Our Patrons, We Ask . . .

• All patrons, regardless of their age, must have a ticket. We urge parents to make sure attendance by young children is appropriate.
• Photographing, recording, or electronically transmitting a performance is not permitted at Sunset Center, except by prior arrangement with the Sunset Center management.
• Please turn off your cell phone, alarm watch, pager and other electronic devices before entering the theater building. If you need to make a call, please do so outside the Sunset Theater building itself, not in the lobby.
• In accordance with California State law, Sunset Center is a “No Smoking” facility.

Alcohol and Food

Alcoholic beverages and food may not be brought inside the Sunset Center auditorium. The nonprofit Friends of Sunset volunteer organization sells beer, wine and some snack foods before shows and during intermission. Patrons should enjoy their refreshments in the Lobby area only. Patrons are not allowed to carry beverages or food into the auditorium of the theater at any performance.

Mailing Lists and Privacy Policy

When you order tickets either online, by phone or in person, we automatically add your name and address to our mailing list. In addition, we would like to add your e-mail address, so that you can begin to receive our periodic e-mail newsletter. Sunset Center knows that its patrons and users of its Web site care about the personal information they provide to us.
