Sunset Center - Special Appreciation

The launch of this Web site is only one example of the many ways that the people of Carmel-by-the-Sea and its neighboring communities continue to show their enthusiasm for Sunset Center. In our first month running Sunset, SCC formed a task force, and through the efforts of these volunteers we have been able to bring the convenience and flexibility of this remarkable technology to Sunset Center -- and you. It is also important to acknowledge that The Friends of Sunset supported our effort with a timely grant of funds to cover a portion of our costs.

In addition, SCC needs to single out the incredible contribution of Paul Beard, the Managing Director, and his team at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, Texas. The underlying logic and source code for this Web site is, in part, the product of a few years of hard work at Bass Hall. Through a unique agreement Bass Hall granted SCC intellectual property rights along with access to their source code and introduced SCC to their Web site developer, C. Pitman Baker & Associates, Inc. We are grateful to our friends in Fort Worth (some of whom own houses in Carmel) who made this unique “sharing” possible.

Obviously, our task force introduced a number of new ideas to the Web site and gave it a whole new “look and feel.” But without the enormous financial savings that this “sharing” provided, SCC would not have been able to either afford this Web site or have it up and running in just seven months. It’s really nice to have “part-time” Carmel residents who care enough about Sunset Center work with SCC to realize our vision to be the cultural heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea.

A list of the individuals who made this web site possible in one way or another appears below. We humbly confess that the scope of their individual contributions can hardly be measured by this list, and yet we must try to express our gratitude for their many hours of work.
