The historical cornerstone of the Sunset Center is the four non-profit classical music presenters, who collectively offer more than fifty classical music events each year. For a city the size of Carmel-by-the-Sea, this might be one of the strongest classical music programs in the country. Carmel Bach Festival

The Carmel Bach Festival is widely regarded as one of the pre-eminent musical institutions in America. Founded in 1935, its performances of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, his contemporaries and heirs are known worldwide. The Carmel Bach Festival has grown from a three-day festival to a three week event with more than 50 performances by leading Baroque interpreters from Europe and the Americas.

Carmel Music Society

Since 1927 the Carmel Music Society has presented concerts by renowned classical artists from around the world. Now in our 85th year, we continue our tradition of bringing great classical music to the Monterey Bay Region.  The Carmel Music Society presents an eight-month season of world-class performances, and for 35 years we also have sponsored a competition for aspiring young musicians.

Monterey Symphony

The Monterey Symphony is the fully professional orchestra serving the communities of the Monterey Bay, Salinas, Salinas Valley, Big Sur, and San Benito County.
