Monthly giving on the Spotlight Plan makes giving to the non-profit Sunset Community and Cultural Center easy, efficient and green! For as little as $10 a month, your gift will support the Center’s mission to provide a vast variety of world-class entertainment, a robust arts-in-education program for local schools and an inviting community gathering space.

1.  Your monthly contribution will be automatically charged to your credit card each month making giving to Sunset Center as easy as possible.

2. Monthly giving provides a reliable stream of income each month allowing Sunset Center to focus on bringing great entertainment and events you can look forward to.

3. It’s environmentally friendly! Sunset Center uses e-communications whenever possible.   Feel good about the environment AND Sunset Center by helping to reduce paper waste, cost of paper, printing and postage.

Consider celebrating the life of a loved one you have lost, but certainly not forgotten, with a memorial gift to the Sunset Center.  Whether they were a life-long resident of the Monterey Peninsula, an arts lover, or a supporter of the Center during their lifetime, making a memorial gift to the Center can be an excellent tribute to their life.  Gifts can also be made in honor of someone – a special anniversary, birthday or other special occasion.  To make an honor or memorial gift or for additional information please call our Development Department at 831.620.2040.

Bequest
A bequest is the easiest and most meaningful way to provide for Sunset Center’s. A bequest is a gift made through your estate. It may be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of the estate, or a remainder after other distributions have been made.

Charitable Gift Annuity
In exchange for cash or assets, a fixed sum of money is paid to the donor for the duration of the donor's life, after which the remainder is left to Sunset Center.

Charitable Remainder Trust
Transfer your assets into a trust, which pays income to you (or other designated beneficiaries) until the trust terminates and the remaining principal is left to benefit Sunset Center.

Life Insurance
Life insurance provides security for a growing family and support in times of need. It can also be used to make a gift to Sunset Center. Options include naming the center as the beneficiary of the death benefit or transferring ownership of an existing policy to Sunset Center.

Retirement Accounts
Naming Sunset Center as a beneficiary of an Individual Retirement Account or other qualified retirement plan is a simple way to include the Center in your estate plans.  Distributions from retirement accounts made to 501(c) (3) charitable organizations are generally tax-free. Please consult your tax professional for
advice about your situation.

If you are interested in any type of planned giving naming Sunset Center, please consult your lawyer or tax attorney for information, instructions and assistance and to notify them of your wish to leave a gift to the Sunset Cultural Center, Inc. Your bequest may be in any form, such as a sum of money, an asset, or an investment.

Sample wording to make a general bequest in support of the Sunset Center is:
THE SUNSET CULTURAL CENTER, INC.,  located at San Carlos Street at Ninth Avenue, P. O. Box 1950, Carmel CA 93921, is to receive the sum of $__________, or __________ (asset), or ____% of my Estate, to be used for its general purposes.

More than 1,000 companies and foundations in the United States currently match their employees' gifts to non-profit organizations such as Sunset Center. Under a corporate matching gift program, cash gifts, or gifts of volunteer time from a company's eligible employees, are matched with company or corporate foundation funds. It all adds up to a great way to increase your contributions and receive more benefits at no additional cost to you! 

Double the impact of your gift! If your company will match your gift, please contact your human resources department to submit the paperwork to have your charitable gift to the Sunset Center matched by your employer.

If you have appreciated stock holdings, you can make a contribution to the Sunset Center by transferring stock. In doing so, you avoid paying capital gains taxes, and receive a deduction for the stock’s full fair market value up to a certain percentage of your adjusted gross income as determined by the IRS (please consult your accountant or financial planner for more information on deductibility).

The stock is sold immediately upon receipt into our account. The value of your stock gift is based upon the mean price on the day it is transferred. If you would like to make a gift of stock, the following information is provided for your convenience:
