Directions from Highway 1 to Sunset Center and Parking:
From Hwy 1 to Public Parking Lot (SW corner of Mission Street and Eighth Avenue)
From Highway 1, take Ocean Avenue west to Junipero Street. Turn left on Junipero and go two blocks. Turn right on Eighth Avenue and go one block. A Public Parking lot will be on your left. Parking is FREE after 6:00 PM.
From Hwy 1 to Sunset Center Parking (San Carlos Street between Eighth and Tenth Avenues)
From Highway 1, take Ocean Avenue west to San Carlos Street. Turn left on San Carlos Street and go three blocks. Just past Ninth Avenue, turn left and enter the San Carlos Street parking lot in front of the Theater.
Handicapped Parking
Handicapped Parking spaces are located in the San Carlos Street Parking area, directly to the right of the Theater building.
Locations and Additional Directions (to Sunset Center meeting rooms and offices)
Directions from Public Parking to Sunset Center & Theater (San Carlos, between Eighth & Tenth Avenues)
Walk to the south side of the parking lot (towards the building) and turn right at the ramp, which leads up to San Carlos. At San Carlos Street, follow the sidewalk to the steps and ramp on your left leading down to the Theater.
Location of the Sunset Center Box Office (San Carlos, between Ninth and Tenth Avenues)
The Sunset Center Box Office is located just to the left of the main lobby. The office is open Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM and on Saturday from noon to 4:00 PM. We are also open two hours prior to every performance.
Directions to Business Office, Bingham, Chapman, and Babcock Rooms, the Arts Council of Monterey County, and the Center for Photographic Art (Sunset Cultural Center Building, San Carlos Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues)
From the San Carlos Street parking area, walk north, past the Theater building to the steps leading up to the patio. On the left is the Center for Photographic Art. Enter the main double doors and turn left to the business office and the Bingham Room. Turn right to the Chapman Room. To reach the Babcock Room and Arts Council, go past the Chapman Room, through the doors and turn right.
Location of the Theater loading area and backstage access (San Carlos Street between Ninth and Tenth Avenues)
Enter the San Carlos Street parking area. Straight ahead is the Auxiliary Theater building. The loading door is located to the left of this Building.
Location of the Green Room and Rehearsal/Dance Studio (San Carlos Street between Ninth and Tenth Avenues)
Enter the San Carlos Street parking area. Straight ahead is the door to the Green Room. Through the door and to the right is the Rehearsal/Dance Studio.
Directions to Carpenter Hall and Studio 105 (Mission Street between Eighth and Tenth Avenues)
Park in the City Public Parking lot on the southwest corner of Mission Street and Eighth Avenue or along Mission Street. Carpenter Hall is about one-half-block from Eighth Avenue on the west side of Mission Street. Studio 105 is approximately one block from Eighth Avenue on the west side of Mission Street.
Location of the Yoga Center, Monterey Symphony, & Carmel Bach Festival offices (Tenth Avenue between Mission and San Carlos Streets)
The Yoga Center and the offices of the Monterey Symphony, Carmel Bach Festival, Forest Theater Guild and the Library Book Drop are located in the cottages facing Tenth Avenue. There is parking behind the cottages.
