Performance Space Rentals

The Sunset Center is located near the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea, only three blocks from Ocean Avenue. Our historic theater is an ideal venue for a variety of live performances. From piano recitals, orchestral concerts and operas to lectures, comedy, rock-n-roll, ballet and full-sized theatrical productions—all of this, and more, has graced our beautiful stage.

You can easily plan a production for the optimal enjoyment of your audience with the theater’s complete lighting and sound systems, a state-of-the-art acoustical enhancement program (L.A.R.E.S), professional and experienced stage crew, extraordinary backstage amenities, and a full-service box office. The auditorium includes 718 seats, including 48 seats that are permanently attached to a seat wagon that rolls under the main seating area for storage (to allow use of the orchestra pit or thrust stage).
