About the Performers 
The Maxwell Quartet is one of Scotland's leading string quartets, internationally acclaimed for its vibrant performances and distinctive fusion of classical masterworks with traditional Scottish folk music. Formed in 2010 by four friends who grew up performing together, the ensemble has established an international reputation through acclaimed tours, prestigious residencies, award-winning recordings, and collaborations across music and the arts. The Quartet's U.S. debut earned praise from The New York Times, which described the musicians as "eloquent performers who bring the same sense of charisma and sense of adventure to their programming." In addition to performing throughout Europe and North America, the Maxwell Quartet is dedicated to education and community engagement through broadcasts, workshops, and performances for young audiences.
