Event Calendar

On November 12, 2026, Sunset Center's Studio 105 will be transformed into an intimate cabaret lounge for a special evening of live music like you've never heard it before with the return of beloved vocalist, Perla Batalla. With small-table seating and an up-close and personal experience, these events bring a classic cabaret feel back to Sunset Center.

For this special performance in Studio 105, GRAMMY Award-nominated singer/songwriter Perla Batalla performs her hit show, A Letter to Leonard Cohen: Tribute to a Friend, celebrating her long-time friend and mentor Leonard Cohen. Featuring Batalla's powerful voice, equally powerful band, emotional honesty, and genre-defying arrangements, Batalla blends interpretations of Cohen's iconic lyrics with her own compositions, including "Awakened" and "The L of Your First Name". The performance serves as a deeply personal tribute to Cohen's legacy, informed by Batalla's two decades spent touring and recording with him.
Cohen, of course, was a revered, Montreal-born, GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter, poet, and novelist, who was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as well as invested as Companion of the Order of Canada, the nation's highest civilian honor. For those hearing Cohen's songs for the first time, there is simply no better introduction. For those who know and love his work, hear it as if for the first time from one of the artists and collaborators who knew him best, Perla Batalla, in Studio 105 at Sunset Center.
