Terrace Hour - Peter Konikowski

Our outdoor concert series, Terrace Hour, is back! Whether you're a lifelong local or simply passing through, start your weekend off right with performances by local musicians from the Monterey Peninsula. Admission is always free, ensuring that live music remains accessible to all members of our community. To support free programming like this, please click here to donate to Sunset Center.

Peter Konikowski is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist who believes music is the best medicine on earth. His sound is warm, earnest, and inviting, with a touch of the wild and mystical spirit of his home, Big Sur. With a voracious appetite for reggae, folk, psych-rock, pop, old-school soul, and world and devotional music of all kinds, his influences range from Sam Cooke and Bob Marley, Ben Harper and Norah Jones, to Iron and Wine, '90s hip-hop, and the occasional dip into Frank Sinatra. The throughline is Konikowski's songwriting, which weaves messages of unity and hope into something deeper than platitudes: he's writing the songs he needs to hear, and he's willing to bet you need to hear them, too.

In 2021, Peter's songs were featured on the Big Survivors record Yantra. Peter will release a new record later this year.

Terrace Hour is free to attend. RSVPs are requested, but not required. Outside food and non-alcoholic drinks are welcome, but alcohol must be purchased at our bar, which serves beer, wine, and canned spirits. The bar opens at 5:30pm, and the show runs from 6-7pm. Rain cancels.
